About BMNED

BMNED is an independent, European operating engineering company, active in geotechnical and civil constructions; steel-, wood- and concrete constructions; building management and geotechnical field activities.

The foundation of the company was laid in 1993. The company started by Gilliam de Nijs sr started initially as a geohydrological consultancy. Because of his extensive practical experience, the company quickly made a name for itself. Due to the increasing demand for advice in the field of groundwater abstractions and related or related matters, the service package quickly broadened and the staffing levels increased. BMNED no longer supports its clients alone in the field of groundwater abstraction. Today, the BMNED team supports its clients throughout the geotechnical spectrum on a daily basis. Whether it is a relatively simple foundation on steel or a very complex foundation construction on piles; a ground and / or water-retaining structure; a quay structure; settlement analyzes; stability studies for temporary or permanent embankments, roads or dikes; BMNED has a specialist for every problem who can solve your problem.

In the initial years, BMNED always outsourced the soil survey, which is essential for reliable geotechnical calculations. In the meantime this strategy has also been adjusted. At the beginning of 2006, the first steps were taken to add this specialism to our service package, BMNED started to probe itself! Meanwhile, several machines are driving across the country every day and one machine is active on the water.

Due to the ever increasing demand for a total package, the company SHB Construct was taken over in 2008. Mr Ton Oosthoek, founder of the company, was looking to continue his company with a view to his future retirement. The acquisition achieved this goal and BMNED was able to add the building and construction disciplines to its service package.

Subsequently, a new fieldwork department was set up in 2008 to support the engineering office. Static test loads are carried out from this division, also operating under the trade name GSNED. The static test load is the most accurate and reliable method to determine the bearing capacity of the pile tip, the shaft friction force and the deformation behavior of a pile. In order to expand the capacity and the range of services in the field of pile testing, an alliance was formed in January 2012. with AnkerPaalTestServices. For both AnkerPaalTestServices and BMNED / GSNED, this meant an extension of the service package and the name of the alliance was renamed All Piles Testing Services. APTS is a cooperation agreement between Acécon, IFCO and BMNED / GSNED. All sorts of foundation piles and anchors are tested by this company through collapse tests, suitability and control tests, both static and dynamic as well as statnamic.

By combining the expertise and experience of our specialists in various fields, all technical, legal and economic aspects of your project can be carefully examined and a practical solution can then be proposed!

In the daily management of BMNED, De Nijs sr is now assisted by his two sons, Gilliam jr and Michael. Gilliam jr is mainly concerned with the studies to be carried out and Michael is responsible for all field work carried out under the trade name GSNED and from APTS.

And to make sure that we can continue to assist you in the future with the same knowledge and not least experience, we familiarize the next generation from an early age with everything that our interesting profession has to offer.
