Expansion of water related activities
To further expand our water-related activities, we are going to add a new work vessel to our fleet. For this reason, a completely new work vessel is being built for us in Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht at Groeneveldt Marine Constructions.
This ship, called GSNED17, is built entirely to our wishes and the latest environmental and working conditions requirements and will be perfectly equipped for our probing and geotechnical drilling activities on the water.
The new ship will be 20 meters long and 6 meters wide. The propulsion is guaranteed by two engines with a combined capacity of 600 hp. In order to enable precise positioning of the ship without problems, it is furthermore provided with a bow thruster.
Furthermore, the ship is equipped with a heavy 45 ton / meter crane including winch, its own hydraulics for driving a sounding and / or derrick, standard spud poles of 16 meters long that can also be extended by another 6 meters. During the voyage these spud poles can be folded down hydraulically, which means that the sailing height and travel times, due to fewer waiting times for bridges, remain limited.
Provisions are made in the deck for attaching probing and drilling towers, this means that this equipment can be quickly removed and the ship can be used for many other purposes.
Our new acquisition is expected to be ready to sail in Terneuzen before the end of November, we will keep you informed of this.
